trauma-informed yoga for anxiety
9th January - 13th February 2023
Monday 8-9pm GMT (via Zoom)
Anxiety is a symptom. It is the language of the body, of the nervous system.
Our 6-week programme aims to ‘befriend’ the nervous system and help to build a sense of safety in the body. Each week, our 60-minute practice will be slow and gentle, using trauma-informed tools, to:
Practise arriving in the here and now, the present moment
Understand the nervous system and how it’s working for you (even when the opposite feels true)
Develop an awareness of your individual responses and survival strategies
Explore practices to regulate your nervous system and develop resilience
the details

please note…
This is trauma-informed yoga rather than therapy. The focus will be on the body - building a sense of safety in the body through slow and gentle practices. There will be minimal ‘asana’ as you’d expect in a regular yoga class - pranayama, meditation and gentle movement will form the practice.
Each session will be include teaching, practice and self-reflection.
